wow bro this is bad. having 18k and losing all of it is just devastating. it would take you 8 years to save the same amount provided u save $200/month the only advice i could give is to start all over again. find ways on how to improve your income. forget recovering the amount. it's gone.

Advice - Find a new hobby and a healthy one. Work harder for your losses. Tell yourself it is a punishment you have to take and never touch gambling again.(I am serious.)

sad to hear ur story upon ur virgin post. rem to have more discipline next time. split between savings and captial, and nv ever touch ur savings for gambling.
All friends, casino is running the bussiness... That's say 3000 employees and pay 2k per person. They need to come out 6 millions per months. Where did the Money come from? I have not count in the pub bills and , rental yet etc. Treat casino just for leisure, few hundred go in for fun and try luck. Finish then exit...
You have the determination to quit, not many gamblers can have this courage, you should be proud of yourself..you have safe yourself from getting into big trouble and you are not in debt

I am having a winning streak, coupled with 2 major flop bets that hurts. I staked my last $3k and managed to gained a net of $17k in a month.
Great luck, along with lost bets and recovered bets and winner bets.
Until I had a bad patch and was down to my last $10k.Curse and swear for losing whatevr bet I made and lost 7 days in a roll.
Then I used my 5k to roll till i was back to blues and with additional $30k of net profit.It was amazing and thrilling to win this much.

Hi Bro, Based on my understanding, what u have suffered is a norm reaction, I been thru that before, although I am still in debt now but I felt better after some adjustment in thoughts and behavior
1. Ask yourself 1 simple question , do gambling rally help you win more lose less? or you are losing more than win NOTHING?
If your answer is the latter, which is nothing, what you can do are as follows;
2. Change any password you holding now with junk password 4398dsfhjhuo8hfd)_(*s and copy on every single bookmaker accounts you have and erase off your copy of this password after saving the junk copy
3. Remove your bookies/runners hand phone numbers
4. Remove all the websites of live scores and links to odds which you have bookmarked, you can even backup useful information and FORMAT your computer
5. After you have did point 2 and 4 , you will need to go for a cold shower first and tell yourself this is the last time you gamble as what you learnt from point 1
6. If you are married, and around age of 45 , I would suggest you spend "pervious time" with your family and spouses and live their life to the fullest and don’t let gambling ruined their life because of you.

You are a very brave man. With your good written English, you should be a well-educated guy. Don't worry bout those 'washing-down-the-toilet-bowl' of all your acquired certs and reproach yourself Not on past stupidity. Leave your ex-gf alone (if not forever) and focus on staying close with your loving & supportive family. Go read some books, nice motivational kinda, else go look for friends for cups of kopi. Probably playing chess with some old folks be a good kickoff, then find some community work or go for some religious group study. Point of it all, stay positive (slowly a step a time) for yourself & family...A man stays young even at 55, therefore your still a 'Lao Youth' @ 46 with many bright years ahead. Cheers!

It is good to etablish whther u are playing to pass time, earn $ or both. If pass time and earn $ at same time, I ould suggest go genting m'sia, it is cheaper with the current exchange rate. On top of that u will gain more GP points to exchange hotel rooms.
If u earn $, u will likely win a bit and goes off and come back next day. You will have monmey management plan and hence u will not lose too much if on a losing streaks.
