Good day! The most common thing question that is most frequently asked since the founding of the internet - How to Speed Up Your Connection... Well, that is why we are here today, to learn some safe tweaks to improve our internet bandwidths for better performance in gaming, surfing and streamings...

First and foremost, we need to identify our bandwidth speed. I suggest using SpeedTest,
http://www.speedtest.net. Take note of this because we will using this information in our next steps.

Next, download "TCP Optimizer" from speedguide.net. The TCP Optimizer is a free, easy Windows program that provides an intuitive interface for tuning and optimizing your Internet connection. There is no installation required, just download and run. The program can aid both the novice and the advanced user in tweaking related TCP/IP parameters in the Windows Registry, making it easy to tune your system to the type of Internet connection used. The tool uses advanced algorithms, and the bandwidth*delay product to find the best TCP Window for your specific connection speed. It provides for easy tuning of all related TCP/IP parameters, such as MTU, RWIN, and even advanced ones like QoS and ToS/Diffserv prioritization. The program works with all current versions of Windows, and includes additional tools, such as testing average latency over multiple hosts, and finding the largest possible packet size (MTU). The TCP Optimizer is targeted towards broadband internet connections, however it can be helpful with tuning any internet connection type. [Description provided by speedguide.net]

Change your settings according to the picture below. Move the slider slightly higher according to your internet bandwidth

We are done with the easy part... Let's step up the gear to a slightly more challenging tweaks.

QoS Reserve Bandwidth Limit
This is a feature by Microsoft to allocate your bandwidth for updating purposes - which in specific would be for Windows Update... Total redundant to spare bandwidths that goes to waste for most of the time... Which is why it should be disabled.

Start-->Run-->Regedit

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows. Right-click on
Windows and create a new key called “Psched“, then right click on the right and create a new “DWORD” entry. Name it “NonBestEffortLimit” and set the value to zero to disable reserve bandwidth.

Increase Browsing Speed for IE/Firefox

Firefox
Type "about:config" in the address bar and ignore any warnings... Scroll down to
"network.http.pipelining" and set it to TRUE, and set
"network.http.pipelining.maxrequest" from 4 to 12.

Internet Explorer
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Internet Settings,Look for MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server” and “MaxConnectionsPerServer.” Set these to 12.

Increase DNS Cache
This tweak is a recommended trick to significantly save time especially if you tend to visit the same sites often. It stores the informations retrieved from the website, so your browser don't have to waste time retrieving the same information from the DNS servers... You can optimize this by increasing the size of your DNS cache.

This is another registry edit – so go back in there (Start and type “regedit“) and navigate to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parameters” and then right click on the white space at the right and add four DWORD values: CacheHashTableBucketSize, CacheHashTableSize, MaxCacheEntryTtlLimit and MaxSOACacheEntryTtlLimit.

The optimum settings would be decimal settings of CacheHashTableBucketSize to 1,
CacheHashTableSize to 384, MaxCacheEntryTtlLimit to 64000 and MaxSOACacheEntryTtlLimit to 301.

<< [How to Tweak for Streaming Performance ]>>
I included a special part on internet tweaking to enhance your streaming performance. As I know
that most of you would probably be streaming for online live football

Set Cache Size for Flash Clips
Browse to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html

Change to cache size to "unlimited"

Adjust your Windows Desktop Visual Effects
You computer will get a significance boost in
speed. This tweak will also free up more resources for your media player and PC performance.

Follow from my previous guide on PC performance tweaks.

Turn Off DirectX Video Acceleration
1. In Windows Media Player
2. Click the "Tools" menu tab
3. Click on "Options"
4. Select the "Performance" tab.
5. Move the Video Acceleration Slider to "None" // If the option is not available, uncheck Turn On "DirectX Video Acceleration for WMV Files".
(In the same popup box, if your playback is choppy, you can adjust the buffer to other than "recommended setting").

Basically, if you combine both this and my previous guide, you will be having a greater internet and pc experience. I have only included tweaks that are considered safe by my books... Just as a disclaimer, I am not responsible for any damage done to your pc... Hope that it can serve as a help to some people. Drop in a line if you guys have any doubt or maybe share some own tweaks of your own...

Cheer guys Smile
